This was an urn made for the family of my friend Norbert Untersteiner. I met Norbert and his wife Krystyna over dinner that they hosted in their condo by Green Lake, Seattle. Our conversations were mostly about woodworking, and it was not until later that I learned of Norbert's achievements in geophysics, and that he was known as the "King of the Arctic Ice."
